Seasonality and Yield

 

  • Season overlaps Elsanta but peak of production is at the same time as Symphony

 

  • Higher 60 day crop yield than Elsanta (up to 400g Class 1 fruit per plant) with 95% Class 1 fruit

 

  • Very high yield in main crop yield, up to 50% more than Elsanta in some trials, with similar or higher percentage Class 1 fruit

 

  • Suitable for outdoor production, would suit standard range in supermarket as well as PYO

 

Fruit Quality

 

  • Regular conic/heart shape

 

  • Large fruit (large percentage above 35mm); primary fruit are very large

 

  • Attractive berry, glossy and sunken seeds

 

  • Bright red colour

 

  • Good skin strength

 

  • Good shelf life

 

  • Very firm flesh

 

  • Pleasant flavour

 

  • Juicy texture

 

  • Good tolerance to rain

 

Diseases

Lucy has the same tolerance to Verticillium Wilt (Verticillium dahliae) and Powdery Mildew (Sphaerotheca macularis) as Elsanta however Lucy has some tolerance to Crown Rot (Phytophthora cactorum).
