Propogation, Soft Fruit and Ornamental Production Co-Ordinator

Liviu oversees the propagation and production of both soft fruit and ornamental plants in our nursery at Somersham.

His role not only involves growing the product but also co-ordinating and planning for all aspects of the crops (including staffing levels) and ensuring that the quality produced satisfies the customer’s requirements .

He is keen to develop and introduce new techniques within the propagation process to improve the quality of the plant material, with the aim of reducing costs and losses.

He has has recently been involved in running a project to develop and improve the production and quality of rhubarb and blueberry varieties to suit both consumer and grower demands.

He first joined Hargreaves Plants in 2007 as a student seasonal worker and was later employed on a full-time basis in 2012, experiencing all aspects of production - supervising, QC and despatch , crop monitoring and planning. He graduated from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Bucharest in 2010 and continued to study in the UK, gaining a CMI Level 4 Diploma in First Line Management.

Outside of work he enjoys playing football for a number of different teams at a variety of levels, taking part in a various tournaments within the UK and Europe.
