Introduction

Hargreaves Plants is working with a select range of the world's leading blueberry breeders in order to offer the best varieties to its customer base.  It is also in a position to offer the highest quality material of these cultivars.  Hargreaves Plants is trialling many different varieties and strains to identify 'winners' for the European market.

The company believes that as the world demand for health conscious consumers continues there will be increasing demands from the multiples for the blueberry fruit.  Many growers will be new to the plants and Hargreaves Plants feel these should have as much assistance as possible to get the best out of the plants.  To this end it has endeavoured to set out some of the basic requirements for growing.  A detailed information guide is available on request.

It is paramount that new plantations get off to the best start, that growers share an understanding of the plants and that detailed consideration is given to their health status.

It is important to remember that it would not be wise, and could be construed as short term, to start a plantation with poor quality plants.  The best advice is not to take this risk as the consequences will be there for the life of the plantation.

Please feel free to discuss plant quality with Hargreaves Plants technical staff.
